First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Springbuk.
Recruiter
I applied online and after a few days, I got an invite to chat with the hiring manager. It was a typical interview where I talked about my background and the manager described the role. It took about 30 minutes. However, after I shared my salary expectations, they decided not to move forward with my application.
- What are your salary expectations?
- Describe a time you worked with a difficult manager.
RFP Manager
I interviewed online and heard back within a week. Then, I had a second interview at the Springbuk office, which was described as a 'coffee meeting.' During this meeting, the interviewer seemed annoyed about having an interview. He asked very general questions and didn't really try to get to know me. He was also clearly distracted and not paying attention. I knew it was over when he mentioned that most people there are younger and he's over 30, implying my age (over 40) was an issue. It's unfortunate that age is considered a deciding factor instead of looking at my 20+ years of experience.
- Can you discuss your previous work experience?
Analytics SME
I got through a 30-min phone screening and then a 60-min interview with the hiring manager. After that, I did a 3-hour analytical assessment. Unfortunately, I wasn't invited to the final round group interview with peers. The communication was good throughout. The analytical exercise was way longer than I've seen in other interviews. I wish I'd had a chance for the final round, especially after putting so much time into the exercise. It would have been great to get feedback or discuss the exercise.
- Could you describe a project you were involved in?
- On a scale, how would you rate your SQL abilities?
- Are you familiar with IBNR?
Client Support Specialist
I had a phone interview, they called it a culture call, then another phone interview with the department head, and two interviews in-person. After that, I was supposed to meet the co-founders to get a sign-off, but I didn't get that far.
- Can you tell me about your favorite book you've read in the past year?
