I found this role online and a recruiter reached out to set up an initial call with the hiring manager, which was a bit unusual but we had a good conversation. It was mostly a getting-to-know-you type of chat. I sent a thank you email, and after a week or so, I followed up again. Turns out the recruiter was out for a week and didn't mention it, and then the hiring manager was out the following week. So, a few weeks and a few emails later, we finally scheduled another call with the hiring manager. They seemed really nice and professional, and we discussed what the next steps would be. I sent another follow-up thank you, and now it's been several more weeks with a couple more emails from me, and still no response. I've been completely ghosted. This unprofessional communication is frustrating. It's not that difficult to keep candidates informed, or at least let them know if they're not a fit. I guess I dodged a bullet by not proceeding further with this company.

It was a great interview experience. First, I had a phone call with a really nice and clear HR person. She asked me about my organizational skills and some other basic behavioral questions. The next week, I went on-site for an interview with two staff members who were really chill and easy to talk to. They asked me simple questions about my background, what I'm interested in, and my career goals for the role. Nothing too challenging or strange, just a casual chat to get to know me. They ended up giving the job to someone else, but I thought the whole process was fair and I learned a lot from it.

I applied one night and got a call the next morning. Had a phone interview set up for the next day, and an in-person interview the day after that. Another set of in-person interviews with several employees happened soon after. The responsiveness and haste of the whole experience was extremely impressive. The phone interview was fun, asking about my technical experience but not quizzing me on anything technical. The first in-person interview was very personable and an easy conversation. I got to see the office and meet some other employees. The second in-person interview had me meeting with three other employees, but only lasted about 45 minutes.

I applied for the Digital Strategist role on LinkedIn and heard back quickly from a recruiter for an initial phone call, which I thought went well. Next, I had a call with a hiring manager that also seemed positive. The following step was a presentation where I had to share findings on business growth and website improvements for lead generation. This felt like an unusual assessment given the company's own lack of developed marketing strategy, which is ironic for a digital marketing agency. After the presentation, I emailed an HR manager to follow up. I got the impression they interviewed many candidates and I never heard back, despite being told they would be in touch. It would have been courteous to get an update on my status. It seems the person I would have reported to just left, so it might be for the best.
