First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sprague Pest Solutions.
Technician
First, I had a phone chat with someone from the local branch, a customer service rep. She was super nice and asked me some good questions to see if I could do this job. Then I drove 90 miles to the branch for a one-on-one with the branch manager. He was really friendly, and it didn't feel scary at all. We chatted about what the job entails, got to know each other, and then I had to do a test with logic problems and some basic math for the role. He liked me and said he'd hire me if I passed one more interview with an operations manager. This person met me near my place at a coffee shop, and we discussed the job. We both felt it was a good fit, so I had to do a physical test and a urine test the next week. That also involved another 90-mile drive, and after passing, I got the job offer. It took about two months from the first chat to starting work.

Outside Sales Representative
This was the WORST, MOST INCONSISTENT, UNRESPONSIVE, NEGATIVE interview process ever. It felt like I had to beg to get this job, and even then, I might not have gotten it. They told so many different stories from different people, it was hard to believe anything. They didn't care how long they dragged things out, or if they called me back or sent an email, which is what they expect from an employee. I followed proper etiquette and waited the proper amount of time to follow up, and when it went beyond the typical 2-3 weeks, I tried calling corporate, which went nowhere. Corporate was rude and said one of them was supposed to call me 3 days ago and asked what they could do. This happened twice. I tried to reach 3 different people I interviewed with, but only had emails. They don't care how they act or treat people, and won't give a direct number for the branch. They lie and pull the rug out from under you. When you finally get someone and ask what's taking so long, they lie again, skirt the issue, and go silent. Then, even if you show proof of contact, they deny everything. Even if you show the attributes they want, you get hardly any responses, and it's like pulling teeth to get a reply. Meanwhile, the job is still posted everywhere, confirming they haven't made any progress.
- Could you describe your core values?
- What do you think are the most crucial qualities for someone in this role?
Pest Solutions Specialist
Had an initial screening call over the phone. It was with the HR admin and one other person. The questions were pretty detailed, but not overly tough or awkward to answer. When I got to the office, I had to fill out the application and also do a skills test that was mostly math. Then, I had a second interview with two managers who were really professional. They asked about a bunch of different situations, mostly focusing on how my personality would handle the people side of the job.
- Can you describe a particularly challenging client you've managed over time and explain how you were able to make the relationship better?
Commercial Route Manager
It was a virtual interview over Teams to chat about job fit and company culture, followed by an in-person interview to dive into daily duties and career goals. You'll meet really passionate people who care about the company, the job, and the impact you can make.

- How do you define outstanding customer service?
