First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Spotlight Media.
Social Media Director
First, we had a video call, then they wanted me to come in person to meet the manager. They seemed really professional and knew exactly what they were looking for, asking spot-on questions for the role.
- Regarding content strategy, how do you approach social media planning?
Sales Assistant
I reached out to upper management via Linkedin contacts and they brought me in for an introductory meeting. Once both sides showed interest, we had an informational meeting where they provided more details about the role and the company.
- Tell me about your previous project experience.
Editor
The magazines and location are impressive, but the job might be as bad as the negative reviews suggest. The CEO seemed to want to challenge my competency and implied his past and current employees needed a lot of guidance. This gave me a poor impression. I answered his questions and stood my ground, but I wouldn't want to work for someone like that – he came across as a micromanager with an ego, regardless of his past as a footballer.
- Could you share your background and explain your interest in this role?
