Spotify Manager Interview Questions
& Process

I applied online and after about a week, I was invited for a recruiter phone call. This screening call went well, and a few days later, I had another call with the hiring manager. Unfortunately, this second screening didn't go well. The hiring manager asked a technical question that felt like a case study but lacked necessary details. It seemed like they expected me to have internal knowledge about Spotify. I had to ask for more information, and the hiring manager admitted they didn't know how to answer it themselves. A few days later, the recruiter informed me that they were moving forward with other candidates.

I applied in January and had a phone screening in late February. Then, I had a Google Hangout with the hiring manager the same week. After that, I went for an on-site interview with three team members, followed by another Google Hangout with a more senior person later that week. The interview questions were pretty standard. Although I didn't get an offer, the people I interviewed with were very nice, making it a positive experience overall.

It was a pretty standard interview process, mostly asking the usual questions you'd expect from a typical interviewer in a regular city. The goal was for everyone to be average, just like in an average world. The whole thing took about 30 words or more to describe.
