I was emailed on April 1st, 2019, about a part-time Group Leader position. Three days later, on April 4th, I went to SASF Headquarters for an interview with Ms. Stowe. After the interview, I was told I'm being considered and would hear from an afterschool director about an opening. I can choose my top 2 borough preferences. I also need to pass a background check, fingerprint screening, and get a negative TB test from blood work.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The process was very unorganized and impersonal. The interviewers did not have all their materials ready and were not prepared. The company should seek out PD opportunities for staff who will be interviewing. The office space was also very messy. Their answers to questions (such as site placement if hired) was very vague. I've heard unpleasant things about the organization, and still decided to go ahead an interview with them but this was a complete waste of my time, I'm glad I did not receive an offer as I probably would have turned it down because of the messy interview process.

I applied for an after school program director job at SASF in the summer of 2015, bringing 4 years of experience in the same role. They interviewed me 3 times, but I never heard back, which was a bad look given how eager they seemed. They even asked if I'd consider a program manager role (a step up) between interviews, and I said yes to both. After the third round, they just went silent. No follow-up at all. Super unprofessional.

The hiring process was simple. They asked a few questions about why I want to work with kids, and then I had to fill out lengthy paper work and get fingerprints done. The process was timed and it took about 7 days.
