Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Splunk.
Talent Acquisition Coordinator
The interview process felt unnecessarily lengthy. It consisted of three stages, and I had to meet with five different people. While I understand the importance of interviewing with the team I would potentially work with, it seemed unnecessary to meet with individuals I wouldn't be directly collaborating with. During the interviews, there was a strong emphasis on my experience, particularly in using Workday. It's worth noting that having experience with multiple ATS systems demonstrates adaptability, a quality that should be valued by employers during the interview process. One significant issue was the lack of time provided to prepare for these interviews. They were scheduled back-to-back with limited flexibility, forcing me to rearrange my other commitments. This was all done with the goal of making a job offer by the end of the week. However, despite the rush, I had to actively follow up for feedback after the interviews. This lack of communication and consideration for candidates' time is disappointing and inconsiderate on the part of the employer.
- Can you tell me about your experience?
Technical Recruiter
Had a 1st round phone screen, then a 2nd round with the contract recruiter, then another 2nd round with an engineering leader, and yet another 2nd round with a member of the recruitment team, and also a 2nd round with the recruitment manager. After the manager meeting they said they'd set up two more calls with people on different teams, but then I got an automated decline email from the ATS when I followed up for an update.
- Can you elaborate on your recruitment process?
- How do you approach scaling recruitment operations?
- What's your experience recruiting within this particular region?
Senior Recruiter
I was contacted right after I submitted my resume. They sent over a questionnaire that I completed right away. Then, I had a phone interview, and soon after, I was invited in to meet with the team. The whole thing wrapped up in about 3 weeks. The recruiter and recruiting coordinator were awesome and super responsive, getting back to me quickly. It was one of the best interview processes I've been through! The team seemed really passionate, and I left feeling energized.
- How many requisitions are you comfortable handling?
