The interview process included a phone screen with HR, then a phone screen with the Finance Director. After that, there was a 5-person in-person interview on site. What was unexpected and a bit unprofessional was that they started calling my references and sending them detailed essay prompts the very next day after the interview, even before making me an offer. Although it seemed positive, they ultimately decided to promote someone internally. While I respect their decision, it felt like a waste of my references' time because it seemed like the internal hire should have been considered earlier.

I had a phone interview with them. They only asked about my experience in a continuous improvement role, focusing specifically on lean six sigma concepts. The call was only 30 minutes long. The recruiter was knowledgeable about lean six sigma and asked me to describe my projects, including details on value stream mapping and poke yoke.

After 3 rounds of phone interviews and 3 rounds of onsite interviews, there was no follow up to highlights the role was filled, placed on hold or interview feedback. Candidates recognize that companies and recruiters are dealing with high volume. But with the urgency emphasized for candidates to submit for interview scheduling, please reciprocate courtesy with at least a follow up to inform the job has been filled.
