This was a ridiculously drawn-out and disorganized process. Based on the interview, it seems like they have no HR processes in place. The President of the company is involved in every single HR aspect, which means the HR team has no autonomy to use best practices. It also sounds like a very micromanaged environment. I definitely dodged a bullet here and do not recommend them due to their archaic talent acquisition processes, or lack thereof.

I got a call from HR a few days after emailing my application. After they asked me a few standard things like my work permit status and salary expectations, we set up an interview for the next week. I met with the head of compositing and the head of 2D, and we talked for about 20-25 minutes. They didn't ask me too many questions about my skills; they were more focused on giving me a feel for what it would be like to work there, which turned out to be pretty accurate since I've been here. While HR was stretching the truth a bit, these guys were quite honest. They asked me several times if I had any questions for them and were happy to answer. I received an offer a few days later and accepted it.

I applied and got an email to set up an interview. I went to the old building, not the new one. I met with a couple of producers who were enthusiastic and agreeable. I liked the funkiness of the old space, it made a good first impression. The process was simple: I showed up, chatted for a bit, and walked out with an offer. I think the new building will be nice too, but it's a lot more clinical.

The interview was thorough. The Compositing Director and HR were professional and asked detailed questions. They were upfront about the role's expectations, which was for a short-term contract. I didn't accept because I had another permanent offer. They seemed like great people and were conducting a thorough hiring process. I felt comfortable and appreciated their honest and detailed interview.
