Full Stack Developer
I applied for a fullstack role and went through several interviews. There was a pair programming session with an engineering manager, a technical interview with developers, a behavioral interview with other team members, and a final interview with the CTO. The communication throughout the process was really good; they kept me informed about how things were going.
- The interview will be tailored to your strengths, whether they are in frontend or backend development.
Customer Success
The interview process took over 6 weeks and involved about 8 rounds, which I found to be a long time. I was really keen to join Spekit, so I tried to stick with it despite the drawn-out experience. After going through this, I wouldn't apply to Spekit again, though I still like their product.
- Tell me about your experience in prior roles.
- Can you describe your past job experiences?
Security Head
The interview process involved 4 rounds that happened consecutively. It was a straightforward process, and they were very clear about what was going on, making it easy to navigate. Nothing unexpected came up, and all the people I interacted with were friendly and easy to connect with. You really get a sense of the company culture through the interviews. They use a 'radical candor' approach, which was a nice change.
- Tell me about your approach to solving problems.
- Describe how you would tackle a specific problem.
Software Engineer
The interview process at Spekit was great! I started with a 30-minute chat with the VP of Engineering, which ended up being an hour long because we had such a good conversation. We talked about my background, what I'm looking for, and he shared more about the company and answered my questions. Then, I had a take-home assignment where I needed to build a project, put the code on GitHub, and deploy it on Heroku. After that, there was a 1-hour code review session with three engineers. This session simulated a real work environment where they asked me about my code and provided constructive feedback. I appreciated that the take-home task and code review were very relevant to the job, and it felt like a fun discussion about the work I did. Overall, it was an A+ experience!
