I applied online and was sent an email to set up a technical assignment. The assignment included a video and screen recording, and it was one of the most fascinating technical tasks I've seen! It was enjoyable, though I found it a bit tough as I've been working with complex features and lots of API calls lately and haven't done much plain DOM manipulation. I didn't pass all the tests, but I learned a lot. I even bought a book the recruiter suggested and I'm really liking it. Caryl was really nice and helpful. I'm sad I didn't pass. I felt a real connection to the product because my sister has dyslexia and has trouble reading books. Tools like Speechify can make a big difference! It would have been a way to merge my passion with a good cause. Hopefully, I'll get another chance.

So I applied for one role but they moved me to another, and I didn't find out about the salary until the absolute end. They offered me way less than market value, like half. Then I had another interview with the tech lead of the team, and it felt like they were gonna hire me. He even walked me through how the work would be done. But then I got a rejection saying I lacked knowledge. When I asked what specific areas I should work on, they gave me a generic answer about company secrets. After two whole months of interviews, I'm pretty bummed about the feedback and the cookie-cutter response. Felt like a total waste of time. I wouldn't recommend this company for interviews, they make you wait forever and then lowball good people.

We had a coding assessment covering frontend engineering concepts, where we were given a shared repository to work with. This was to check our technical skills in frontend dev, if we could follow version control best practices, our problem-solving skills, and if we understood modern frontend tools and frameworks.
