First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SpectrumVoIP.
Account Manager
The process was pretty simple. First I talked to one of the agents and then I met with the Sales Manager. Since I already had experience in the industry, it was mostly about sharing general background info. They're looking for people with sales experience, a positive attitude, and a drive to succeed.

Associate
I found this interview to be very awkward and uncomfortable, more like an interrogation than a conversation. A recruiter from a staffing agency contacted me about a role at Spectrum VoIP and scheduled me immediately. The interview felt like an interrogation where I was constantly grilled about my background. It was off-putting that none of the interviewers turned their cameras on, even when I requested a video interview. This happened in both interviews I had the same day. The whole experience felt odd, and I wished the hiring committee had made more effort to connect with me.
- Can you tell me how you found out about this job opening?
Sales
The sales interview process felt unrealistic due to inexperienced managers and poor training. My impression is that the company is struggling financially. They operate their sales department like a "boiler room," using intimidation as a management style. It's a shame because there are genuinely good people at Sprectrum with a strong "value-proposition." If you're looking for a job that involves "churn-and-burn" tactics and constant micromanagement, this might be the place for you.

Sales Account Executive
I applied on indeed and the VP (Mike) called me and talked about the company really well and we set up an interview time. I spoke with him for a minute or two and then went with the sales manager to an appointment that he closed. I then ate lunch with him and another sales manager and got to know them. They liked me but when we got back to the office things were open ended as far as getting the job. I got Mike and the Sales Manager into the conference room and closed them on hiring me. I do not think they would have hired me if I did not demonstrate a sales ability and express our mutual interest in the position.
- Did you have any questions for me about the role or company?
- What are your thoughts on the base pay versus commission structure?
- How would you approach closing this deal with us?
