First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Specific Diagnostics.
Microbiologist
It was an easy interview process. We started with a screening phone call. Then, there was a one-to-one and a group interview with the team. The third step was a great chance to meet the available employees from the department. Throughout the entire process, they really focused on understanding my professional and personal skills.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Could you tell me more about the job description listed on your CV?
- What are your hobbies?
Microbiologist
It was a thorough interview process that moved along pretty quickly. Started with the usual phone call, then a virtual meeting, a follow-up, and finally the last interview. They were pretty straightforward about most things, just not pay and benefits.
- What kind of work environment are you looking for?
- Can you solve this calculation related to microbiology?
- What are your technical skills in microbiology?
Microbiologist
Had 3 rounds of interviews. First one was with the COO, to see if we were a good fit. The second was a technical interview with a technical lead, which went really well. The third was with the CEO and was a disaster. The CEO seemed to think the technical lead was his assistant and was confused about setting up a conference call. He was 10 minutes late, then asked me to set up the call, and then didn't show up for another 10 minutes. We only had 5 minutes to talk because he had another call right after. Seriously one of the worst experiences, especially given the CEO's arrogance and bad reviews.
- What are your strategies for handling tight deadlines?
Chemical Assistant
The interview process is fast paced and fair. I have an onsite interview coming up, and I'll see what happens after that. The company seems cool and is doing well, so I think there will be a lot to do and I won't be bored.
- Tell me about a time you were late with an assignment and how you handled it.
