I applied online and then got a phone interview. The first phone call was pretty straightforward and the recruiter seemed nice. She asked me to complete an application with details like my current job, salary, and what I expect for this role. After I sent it back, she called again to go over some specifics from my application. First, she wanted to talk about my expected salary. I had checked Glassdoor and other sites and saw that the average for this role in Denver with my experience was around $60k, so that's what I put down. When she asked how I found that out, I mentioned Glassdoor and other salary websites. She then became quite rude, saying my expectations were ridiculous and that with my experience, I was asking for too much and she didn't understand why I thought I could get that. I reiterated that my figure was below the average for Denver. She kept talking down to me, insisting I was at best a Junior Privacy Analyst with my experience and that my salary demands were too high. She repeatedly said she didn't understand and asked me to explain my reasoning, even after I had already done so multiple times. It was confusing because just two days before, she had said my experience was a perfect match. I decided to end the call, withdrew my application, wished her a good day, and hung up. The whole experience felt very unprofessional due to the recruiter's rude behavior.

I met with the hiring director and did some grammar and spelling tests. We talked about my background and interests. They gave me advice on the process, how to interview, and what questions to expect. They also called several times to schedule the client interview. There was a call before the interview, and I was asked to send thank you notes to the interviewers afterward. I left a voicemail for the contact but haven't heard back in 2 days.

So, first I had this quick phone chat where they asked about my education and explained what the job is about. Then they set up a time for me to come in for an in-person interview. The in-person meeting was pretty chill and straightforward. They mostly just went over my qualifications and talked more about what document review entails.

It was pretty straightforward. I first spoke with a Corporate Recruiter, then I had a chat with the Placement Director. I didn't actually get to meet the whole team until a few days into the role. Got the job offer pretty fast after my interview, so the whole thing moved quickly. However, they didn't end up offering me the salary they initially mentioned, but I was in a tough spot and needed the job at the time.
