Behavioral

I applied online and then got a message from an HR coordinator to set up an initial phone screen. The HR coordinator didn't include her availability in the message, so I messaged back quickly to ask for some dates and times she was free to chat, but I didn't get a response for 5 days. We eventually scheduled a phone call, but she didn't even show up. I sent several follow-up messages asking to reschedule and suggesting other times, but I still haven't heard back. The lack of professionalism from SparkPost in this process has been absolutely terrible, and I'd advise anyone thinking about working here to look at other jobs based on this experience alone.

Technical Coding Behavioral

This was easily the most enjoyable interview process I conducted during my recent job search. From beginning to end, you could really get a sense of the company culture that exudes positivity and enthusiasm. From a technical standpoint, the coding exercise was very practical and a breath of fresh air from some of the typical data structure/algorithm type technical interview exercises. If you perform well on the exercise, you will then have a number of meetings with members of the team you will be on. This was an absolute delight and really affirmed my interest in becoming a part of SparkPost. Every aspect of this interview process, all the way from HR to the higher ranks of the engineering leadership team, was absolutely wonderful. This is a group of winners and a team you want to be a part of.

A recruiter set up a phone screen and an interview and let me know the details beforehand. It was a really simple interview process. The recruiters mostly asked general questions about tech stacks or IT tools. After the phone screening, I tried to follow up, but the recruiter never replied.
