First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sparkloft Media.
Intern
Super standard interview process. There were 2 rounds. First, you meet one person, then you meet the team you'd be working with. They ask typical interview questions about your experience and how you work.
- Describe a situation where you faced a challenge and explain how you handled it.
Social Media Strategist
They outsource HR which made it hard to get a clear picture of the role, which seems more focused on client retention. The interview process was a "Round Robin" style, which I wish I'd known beforehand. While they mentioned work/life balance, their description suggested the opposite, a potential red flag. They also struggled to define their company culture, making it hard to get enthusiastic about the opportunity. Be ready to present a social media campaign concept for a challenging product/service.
- What is your background with Facebook advertising, and what kind of budgets have you managed?
- How does your experience in your current position align with the requirements of this role?
- Can you present a social media campaign idea for a subject that is hard to promote?
Freelancer
It was a comprehensive 4 part interview. I had to talk to multiple co-workers as well as leads of the team. I also had to create a short project highlighting my skills in order to be considered for the position at the time it was available.
- Are you open to working on projects that require skills you aren't familiar with?
Project Manager
The interview process was really good and conversational. I enjoyed meeting everyone, and it's clear that culture is a big deal there. They seem to genuinely care about their employees, and I appreciated being treated like a person.
- How do you manage project organization?
