I was contacted by HR in LA about two months after applying. My first interview was a phone screen, followed by an in-person interview at the NY office with two people. I waited about 30 minutes for them to arrive. The interview itself was pleasant. I was then asked back for more discussions, but those meetings were never scheduled. I also had several video interviews with people in other offices. The discussions went well, and the people were nice and professional. Then, communication stopped. HR didn't respond to my follow-up messages over a couple of months. I never found out if the role was filled, which was confusing since I met about seven people in total.

It was a thirty-minute chat about the job and some competency-based questions, pretty standard stuff. There were two interviewers, a lady from HR and a guy named Russell. I was definitely overqualified with my BSc/MSc in both computing and business, plus I'd worked with online content before, both professionally and in school. What wasn't advertised at first was that it was actually a 2-month temp gig with the possibility of becoming permanent. They only told me this during the interview. The salary was £15,000. Sadly, I didn't get the job, and they didn't give me any feedback on why.

Behavioral Presentation

The interview process involved an initial phone chat with a recruiter, followed by an in-person meeting with a group of three people: two staff members and the business manager. The business manager was mostly disengaged during the in-person interview, frequently checking their phone, sending emails, and even stepping out to take a call. At one point, after I discussed my background with luxury auto brands, the business manager directly questioned the truthfulness of my experience. The overall interview environment felt quite uncomfortable and strongly suggested that the company's office culture lacks inclusivity. I tried to get a clear answer about the office culture, especially in light of negative reviews on Glassdoor, but the interviewers were evasive, implying that these issues are ongoing and unaddressed.

Behavioral Presentation

First, I had a one-on-one chat with a senior staff member, asking generic interview questions. Then, I was invited back for a second interview stage. They gave me a broad question to build a presentation around. It could have been clearer, as I had lots of questions about which direction to take my answer. Nice polite people and great office!

  • What is your motivation for seeking employment with this company?
  • Prepare a presentation based on a given broad question.
