First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Spark Therapeutics.
Scientist
I got this job through a recruiting company. They had a screening phone call and I had to submit my resume. Then, I had a video call with the manager. We talked about the open position details and they wanted to see if I was a good fit for the role.
- Could you describe your previous work experience?
- What about your interests makes you a good fit for this position?
- Do the responsibilities of this position align with your interests?
Scientist
Started with an HR call, then talked to the hiring manager. She set up an onsite with 4 team members. She said they'd decide in a week or two. After the interview, no follow-up. I asked the recruiter after a month of no contact and found out they weren't filling the role until next year. I followed up again with the recruiter... nothing. They should at least update candidates.
- What made you interested in this role
Senior Scientist
Good people asked engaging questions. However, the hiring manager talked for 20 minutes straight without letting me answer. I'd suggest doing the panel and HR interview together.
- Can you tell me about your previous work experience?
- What prompted your job search?
