First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Spark Program.
Program Coordinator
We had phone calls with HR, the Chief Strategy Officer, and the Managing Director. Following that, I presented a case study to the entire office. Then, I had a final conversation with the managing director that lasted about an hour, making the case study, Q&A, and chat with the MD nearly two hours in total. The team was really nice.
- Can you describe how you handle student behavior?
Program Coordinator
You'll go through a few rounds of interviews - phone, in-person, and video. Most roles will have you do a mock project at the end, which is related to the job. This lets them see your work and lets you see what the job is like.
- What did you aspire to be at age 13?
Executive Director
The process started with a brief phone interview with standard questions like 'tell me about yourself' and 'why this role?'. I was told they'd follow up in a week, but it was three weeks of silence even after I reached out. I eventually connected with the new ED, who, despite being new herself, didn't answer my questions about the organization's direction or how she'd work with EDs. She asked unrelated and awkward questions, and the conversation ended abruptly. It was probably for the best, as the whole process made it clear it wasn't a good fit, and they seemed to be looking for teachers, not necessarily someone for this role. They need to be more upfront about their process.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What are your motivations for this position?
