I interviewed for a product manager role at Commet, which was later acquired by the company that reached out to me. The process was a bit strange. First, I got an email acknowledging my CV, saying they'd reach out if I fit. But then, about a week later, I noticed I'd missed several virtual interview invites they'd sent, which I'd mistaken for spam. If they'd explained upfront that they send invites without prior communication, it would've been a better experience. The interview itself involved recording answers via video, which felt awkward. To make things worse, technical issues and software glitches made it a longer and more frustrating process.

It was an online interview using a webcam and speakers. There were practice questions and you could review your answers before you submitted your video. They asked an introductory question, asking you to describe yourself, and how you would handle conflict on an airplane.

I applied for a role and heard from a recruiter. I set up a time to chat with the recruiter, but they canceled it right away and said the CEO would reach out instead. The CEO contacted me a few days later and we set up a meeting. The day after that, he canceled the meeting without any explanation. He got back in touch later to say they'd found a suitable candidate. It felt disorganized and raised concerns for me. The job is still listed, and this was months ago. It gives me red flags, and I wouldn't suggest it.

I got contacted for a phone screen the day after I applied. After that, they sent me a link to do a one-way video interview using Spark Hire, which I found really easy to use and helpful for my interview anxiety. The next day, I was invited for an onsite interview. There, I met with two people for 30 minutes each. The interviews felt comfortable and conversational, although I wasn't offered any drinks in a hot room. After the interviews, I was given a tour. The second interviewer seemed uninterested and didn't explain the next steps when she walked me out. I sent thank you emails, but didn't get a response. A week later, I followed up and received the expected 'not a good fit' email. Overall, it was a neutral experience. I was initially excited, but the communication afterward was lacking; it felt disrespectful that I might not have heard back if I hadn't followed up.
