Applied online, didn't hear back for three weeks. Then scheduled a 40-minute phone interview with the hiring manager in three days. It went well; the HM seemed to want someone interested in data analysis with strong SQL skills. They said they'd share the next steps in two weeks, but I never heard back. Not very professional.

Technical Behavioral

So a recruiter reached out about a software developer role at spark energy. I was supposed to chat with the hiring manager but it ended up being a technical phone screening instead. They asked essay-style questions that needed detailed explanations. It seemed like they wanted someone who was purely a developer and didn't have any energy trading background.

Behavioral Other

It was a two part interview. The first screening interview only took about 30 minutes; basically the hiring manager going over the goals of the company and what they were looking for in a job candidate. The second interview lasted 2 hours over the course of a casual conversation and describing what I would be doing for Spark Energy.

It was a phone call interview going over my resume and past experience. I think they have 2-3 rounds of interviews. They do take a while to get back to you about the opportunity.
