First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Space Needle.
Director of Marketing
It started with a phone screening by HR, then a call with the hiring manager, followed by two in-person interviews with the hiring manager, and a final meeting with the president. It was a big time commitment from everyone involved, and I was repeatedly told I was a top candidate. But then... nothing. My calls and emails went unanswered. I didn't want to seem too pushy, but I did let them know I was still very interested and felt like the perfect fit. I kept my follow-ups minimal, but I was truly shocked no one responded, especially after all the time I and the Space Needle put into it and being told I was a top candidate. I'm a professional and expect to be treated with respect. At the very least, they should have told me they chose someone else or SOMETHING. Ignoring me or not acknowledging my interest is not okay. I would never want to work for a company or person who shows such disrespect. In hindsight, it was a good thing. Be warned.
- Tell me about a marketing initiative you led that didn't meet expectations and how you used data and analytics to fix it.
Project Manager
I applied for the Project Manager role and heard back from HR for a phone screen about 2-3 weeks later. The very next day, I had an in-person interview with the hiring manager. They seemed to like me and said they'd let me know about the next steps by the end of the following week. It's now been about six weeks, and I haven't heard anything. I've sent a couple of follow-up emails and even called the HR person I spoke with, but no response. While I understand they might not be moving forward with my application, a simple "no" email would have been appreciated.

Photographer Sales Associate
The Space Needle has a high turnover rate, especially during the summer. You can easily get an initial interview at their admin office. The first part is a questionnaire about you and your experience. The second is a face-to-face meeting. The second interview is with a manager from the department you want to join. Sometimes the first interview goes straight to the managers during busy seasons. After that, there's a drug test.
- Can you share an instance where you remained composed while handling an upset customer?
