First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Southwest Funding.
Mortgage Loan Originator
I really like this company. The process was very straightforward, and they work with a lot of good investors for Non-QM loans. Their technology and website could be improved to better showcase originators, but their sales training is excellent.
- What is your current loan production, and what factors might be limiting you from achieving a higher volume each month?
Loan Processor
It was a thorough interview process. I interviewed with multiple managers and they answered all my questions. I learned about the culture and the good and bad parts of the position. They were totally upfront and I knew what I was getting into.
- How have you handled success within this industry?
Underwriting Manager
The interview was casual and easygoing, but their follow-up was lacking. They didn't communicate as promised, even after I followed up. By the time they responded (three weeks late), I'd already accepted another offer. My advice is to keep candidates updated, even if you don't have a decision yet. It made me question if they treat their customers the same way. This actually made me feel more confident in my decision to go elsewhere, even though I was a good fit for Southwest Funding.
- What is your experience like?
Branch Manager
The recruiters will check your production and income. You will need to provide detailed documents to prove your production, as well as W2s and paystubs. They have a system that can verify this information.
- Can you tell me about your production?
- What's your average monthly income?
