The whole interview process went pretty smoothly, and I sent a follow-up email about 24 hours later, but unfortunately, I never heard back from them. I was pretty optimistic about it because I felt I was overqualified and really wanted the job. Later, I found out from someone I know at the company that they ended up hiring a much younger intern for the role.

The initial phase was a roughly 30-minute phone call to assess my knowledge of the agriculture water reclamation program. It was also a good chance to see if my personality fit with the supervisor and to ask about the work environment, like how things work, what benefits are offered, who the coworkers are, what the office hours are, and the salary range. I couldn't make the in-person interview because of a scheduling conflict, but they did find someone suitable. No hard feelings, maybe I'll get another shot.

The hiring process at the Southwest Florida Water Management District was pretty normal time wise. The interview was pretty tough technically but the questions were fair. Every question that was asked was very pertinent to the job function. They were straight forward and to the point which made it easier for me. Each of the personnel in the room introduced themselves, gave their position title and a brief explanation why they were in the room. A week later I received and offer letter which I accepted.
