First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Southern Technical College.
Registrar
I spoke with the director for about 20 minutes. She asked me about my previous jobs and went over the job description. Then, she took me to another office to speak with the head person, who I would be working closely with. (She was a nice lady.)
- Tell me about your previous work experiences.
- What prompted your departure from your former role?
- Could you elaborate on your approach to work ethic?
Student Services Coordinator
The first interview was 30 minutes late, which was frustrating. It focused on the job role and how I'd fit in. They asked when I could start and requested references, which I sent that day. It took them a week to contact my references and another week to say they were sending my details to corporate and asked if I could start immediately. I decided to move on because of the delays and lack of communication. I never received an email. It felt unprofessional and disorganized. I'd only recommend this place if you desperately need a job, otherwise, look elsewhere for a company that respects people.
- Tell me about yourself in a 5-minute elevator pitch.
Externship Coordinator
The interview process felt really drawn out. It started with a phone interview, then an in-person meeting with the Director of School and the Director of Education. After a few days, I had another phone interview with the Corporate Extern Director. The final step was an in-person teaching demonstration, evaluated by my future peers, and then a certification test. I actually thought they had hired someone else because it took so long.
- Are there any typical questions you ask?
- Are there any questions that are not out of the ordinary?
- Do you have any questions that are outside the box?
Ultrasound Program Director
We talked with the campus director and the director of education. We talked about my work experience and education. We reviewed the program and its future direction. We went over school policies and my potential start date. They gave me a quick history of the school and its future plans. We also reviewed the duties of the position.
- Tell me about your education and work history.
- What are your thoughts on the program and its direction?
- What is your understanding of the school's policies?
