Field Service Manager
I was initially contacted for a phone interview that lasted 30 minutes and focused on behavioral questions. The next day, I had a face-to-face interview with a regional manager and an HR manager, which also involved behavioral questions and background checks. Later that evening, I was invited for another interview the following day with the regional manager, HR manager, president, and vice president. Three days after that, I followed up and was informed that another candidate was selected.

Satellite Technician
It wasn't bad, it was time consuming but what good job isn't. Of course, gotta pass a background check, have a good driving record, and pass a UA. First, you have a phone interview, then a 1 on 1, then another phone interview. Once you're hired you go to orientation, then on a truck with a trainer for a month, two class days within that month, then you have to pass a test.
- What is the company's number one rule?
Technician
You get a call from Southern Star for a pre-screening interview. Then they schedule you for the interview locally. You sit down with one or both of the area Field Service Managers (FSM) and they ask some predetermined questions from a laptop. Then they ask some questions to get to know you better. All in All the interview process is fairly easy.
- Do you have any issues working at heights or in confined spaces?
Technician
Getting the job was super easy, just needed to be breathing. Not much else to it. Seems like people don't stick around long here, probably 'cause by the time you figure out how bad it is, you start looking for another job.
- Would $12/hr work for you?
