Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits.
Sales Consultant
For this Sales Consultant role, the interview process had two rounds. The second interview really dove into behavioral and situational questions to get a feel for how candidates tackle real-world sales situations. You can expect questions about dealing with tough spots, handling customer objections, and other similar behavioral stuff.
- Can you share an instance where you persuaded someone to adopt your viewpoint or plan?
- Tell me about a time you were in a difficult situation and how you addressed it.
- How would you handle objections during a sales process?
Sales Consultant
I applied online and a few days later, a manager called to set up an interview. I interviewed with the sales manager and area manager. The interview lasted about 30 minutes. They said they'd contact me in 1-2 weeks for a second round, but I haven't heard back after two follow-ups. I'm not sure if I'll ever hear back, but it felt unprofessional not to get a response either way. The interview itself seemed to go okay.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your experience in the wine and spirits industry?
- What are your thoughts on industry trends and potential growth areas in the market?
Sales Consultant
Having an interactive and comfortable interview experience can greatly enhance the overall atmosphere and your performance during the interview. When an interviewer asks general questions in a behavioral interview format, they are not just looking for specific answers but also trying to understand your thought process, problem-solving abilities.
- Can you share some information about yourself and your educational background?
