Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits.
Sales Representative
The interview process was a straightforward two-step approach. The initial interview involved a role-playing exercise simulating a sales call. Following that, there was a more conventional interview where they asked about my personal background and previous experience. The whole thing moved along pretty quickly after the first call, making it a generally easy process.
- What gets you motivated to start your day?
Sales Representative
I applied online and about a week later, HR called me to schedule the first interview. The first interview was good, a bit informal which made me excited about the job. Then, almost a month later, I was called back for a second interview. This one was a bit more formal but went as expected. HR was nice and knew their stuff, though I felt like she was doing other things while we talked. I didn't get the job, but I'm thankful for the chance and would apply again if it opens up. It would have been good to get a rejection email or call. I saw the job was filled when I checked online.
- What makes you the best candidate for this position?
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
Sales Representative
I found the job on their website and applied. I got a call from HR to set up an in-person interview. I first met with two HR people, and then I talked to the hiring manager. The whole thing took about an hour and a half. They said I'd know by the next week if they wanted to move forward. I sent a thank you email that day, but no reply. The next Friday, I followed up, still no response. It's been three months, and I haven't heard anything, even though the job is still up on their site.
- Can you tell me about your approach to time management?
