So I applied with my resume and cover letter and got a quick response, setting up an interview. But, I got sick on the day and had to reschedule. I let them know right away, showing I was still interested. They were cool about it and asked for my availability. I gave it to them. Then, out of the blue, I got this really rude email saying they'd already offered the job to someone else who accepted, and wished me luck. This was like, 24 hours before our chat. It made me wonder how they could pick the 'strongest' candidate without even talking to me. It felt like they already knew who they wanted or made the decision way before. I'd heard they sometimes hire internally, and this felt like that. I'm not even mad about not getting the job, but the way they handled it was super disappointing and unprofessional. It makes me think other good people might not apply because of how they treat candidates. I asked them about it, and all I got was a quick 'Apologies,' with no real explanation. Their lack of communication and honesty was a big letdown. Honestly, it gave me a bad vibe about their hiring, and I'd tell others to think twice before applying.

It was a very easy and laid-back interview. They asked the basic questions. As long as you seem interested and are prepared for scenario-based questions, you'll be fine.

The interview involved a three-person panel, including a senior peer, an equivalent peer, and an employee advocate. They asked a set of prepared questions focused on technology knowledge, training, and expertise, along with some general tech questions. Right after that, I had a one-on-one chat with the CIO about technology and the university's future direction. I connected better with the CIO's open discussion than the panel's standard questions.

The interview process involved a panel interview first, followed by a second interview with my potential direct supervisor and their manager. The entire process, from receiving the invitation to getting the offer, took exactly 8 weeks.
