Project Manager
I was contacted by the hiring manager through email for the Energy Efficiency Project Manager position. I was asked to provide my availability for a 30-minute call to discuss our mutual fit for the Project Manager role. The hiring manager provided some available time slots, noting they were subject to change. The interview experience was strange, feeling like a staged event for the hiring panel's amusement. They seemed to mock policy changes at my current employer. I never received a response to my follow-up emails or calls.
- What is your reason for wanting to work in Arkansas?
Project Manager
I had to prep a presentation about my project management experience. It was a 30-min presentation, then 30 mins with a panel of four people. They all asked me questions. Since I work with three of them daily as a contractor, the questions were pretty basic. They asked about my Project Management and Cyber Security knowledge.
- What do you think is the most crucial element for a project to be successful?
Project Manager
First, you'll need to pass a credential assessment based on your resume and application. Honestly, the assessment answers are more important than your resume itself. Make sure to read the job description super carefully. They'll ask for "specific" and "thorough" examples of your work as a Project Manager, how you've used PM software, Enterprise Management solutions, accounting and contract management software, and if you have any nuclear experience. If you seem like a good fit, they'll email you in about 3-6 weeks. After that, someone will call you within seven days. Then, you'll meet with 4 to 6 senior managers and senior engineers. Since they don't usually schedule second interviews, you really need to make a good impression the first time around. These managers tend to reflect the company's pretty conservative vibe.
- What makes you a better candidate than someone who has nuclear experience?
