First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Southern Champion Tray.
Account Manager
Had a phone interview with HR. Then a Zoom interview with the Hiring Manager for about an hour. Finally, an in-person interview with the Hiring Manager which lasted 2 hours. The interviews covered my past experiences, specifically in the paper and container business, my sales experience, and my account management background.
- Can you walk me through your previous employment?
- Tell me about your experience in the paper and container industry.
- What sales experience do you have?
Customer Service Representative
A talent acquisition manager reached out to set up an interview with the hiring manager. I met with the hiring manager and got a tour of the office. The talent acquisition person then followed up to schedule another interview with the hiring manager and their manager. They ended up hiring someone internally.
- Can you tell me about your current role?
- What are your biggest strengths?
- And what about your weaknesses?
HR Intern
I applied with my resume and got called in for an interview about a week later. The interview was a bit intense, as I felt pushed to say I was Christian, which I avoided. I was asked to highlight why the company's values mattered to me, and I listed them all except religion. They asked the question again, which made me uncomfortable.
- What about our company values stood out to you?
- Can you highlight why the values of this company are important to you?
Human Resources Generalist
I was on a panel interview and one of the interviewers made a comment about my large family size, using a profane word and the word 'show.' I wanted to quote it directly, but Glassdoor's filters wouldn't let me, which I find unfair as they are censoring free speech. The comment from SCT was both rude and disrespectful. Because of this experience, I cannot recommend SCT to anyone.
