They were looking for someone who was good with drafting and 3-D modeling software, and could get drawings ready for manufacturers. The pay was $15/hour. The interview was a panel with managers and new engineers talking about their jobs. It's a company that makes stuff, and good communication between engineers and manufacturers is key. They want people who are eager and have some experience with 3D modeling. The interview is in person at the company. This particular interview was a single panel, but they mentioned other interviews can have multiple panels.

Behavioral Technical

I had a phone call with upper management to learn more about the company. Then, a week and a half later, I went in for an in-person interview that lasted about 2.5 hours. I met with HR and two engineering managers, and got a tour of the manufacturing floor. It took a while to get feedback on my candidacy due to busy schedules, though they were fairly communicative. The follow-up was a generic message. They seem to be looking for an ideal candidate without urgency, which wasn't clear from the job description or interview. I had to ask for a decision update. Despite interviewing me and others, no one seems to have been hired as the job is still posted. It took them too long to have minimal discussion on my candidacy, although they were relatively communicative. Ultimately, they followed-up with a generic and impersonal message. However, you cannot deduce this from the job description or during the interview. I had to press for a follow-up to understand their decision. After interviewing me, and at least 3 others at that point, it appears no one was hired - the job is still posted online.

The interview was conducted over the phone in a conference call with the IT Manager. It was a friendly and professional conversation that lasted at least 30 minutes. They were really interested in hearing about my past IT experience and any new ideas or projects I've been involved with. The company seems professional, and the role sounds like it would be engaging and challenging.
