I applied, then had a phone interview. The HR person who called seemed really excited, but I think she might have been a recent grad and not well-trained. She didn't even seem interested in my portfolio. It seems like this marketing department, at least at the Bonita location, has a lot of people leaving and coming. The pay they offered was so low, I had to ask why they advertised for a Senior role and then tried to offer me so little. They said that was the only way they could get someone decent to apply and then they'd try to negotiate down. They definitely need training all around. Everyone seemed stressed out. It was a really strange conversation.

I had an initial HR phone call where they asked some basic, simple questions. After that, I met with three managers for what felt like a fairly casual interview, fitting for an entry-level position. The main goal seemed to be understanding what kind of role I was seeking to ensure it was a good fit. I really clicked with the interviewers and felt positive afterward. I received the offer the very next day and began working there the following week.

The interview process was deep and in-depth, asking about my background and qualifications for the job. It also included questions about past work experience that would contribute to interlinking. They also asked what I like to do in my free time.

I talked to the editor in chief first, then the director. They gave me a writing assignment to do at home. Then I had to wait until I reached out to them to find out they had gone in a different direction because they were downsizing the company.
