The interview process was pretty strange. At each stage, the recruiters and the engineering folks seemed unfriendly and not engaged. Scheduling interviews took a while, and they were rescheduled a few times. I got a rejection email before even doing any technical interviews. Overall, I didn't get a good feeling from the company, which is too bad because their product is great.

We'll start with a quick hello and some casual chat to get comfy. Then, I'll give you a rundown of our company and this specific job. After that, you'll tell us about yourself – your experience, what you're good at, and why you're keen on this role. We'll dive into some questions about your background and skills, and maybe even a quick practical task or technical question. You'll get a chance to ask us anything about the company, the team, or what happens next. Finally, we'll wrap up with some closing thoughts and info on the next steps.

I applied from another country. First, I spoke with the internal recruiter. Then, I got a take-home assignment about TCP servers and clients. I could use any language I wanted. After that, I met with two engineers to talk about my solution and extend it by pair programming on a video call. About a week later, I had an hour-long video call with someone from leadership. The last step was an all-day onsite. SoundCloud paid for my travel and we did several interviews, including with engineers, whiteboarding architecture, a product manager, etc.
