First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sound Publishing.
Reporter
I had an in-person interview with the paper's editor. It was conducted very professionally. Everything they told me about the job was accurate to my experience once I was hired. They were upfront about the low pay and limited advancement opportunities. I heard back from them quickly after the interview.

Reporter
They reached out to me for an interview, and we set it up for the next day. I was asked to bring a print portfolio of my work. It seemed to go okay--they inquired about work background, what I was aiming to do, and thoroughly went over the position. They mentioned they would follow up. Many months have passed, and I still haven't heard back.
- How is your past experience applicable to this role?
Creative Artist
First you'll meet the Creative Lead, who will be your manager, then you'll go upstairs with her and the Publisher/Department Head (Keven Graves, he's really nice). After that, you'll have to do an InDesign Test to check your skills with the software you'll use most.
- What are your thoughts on our publication?
Creative Artist
I met with the publisher and manager. We talked for about an hour about my background and reviewed my previous work. It was a relaxed conversation, not too serious. They were both friendly and made me feel comfortable. I got an offer right there.
