Behavioral Presentation

I had 3 conversations in total, plus an assignment. First I met the BDR manager, then an AE, and finally the CMO. The interview was mostly behavioral, focusing on discussing my business development background.

Behavioral Technical Coding

The initial interviews were pretty high-level, asking about my experience as an SA and my thoughts on the SM technology. The final interview involved a verbal "coding" exercise. It was about real-time synchronization of relational databases and RESTful calls. Even though the SM tech is AI-related, this verbal coding thing felt like a really bad way to test coding skills, way too basic and not really relevant for an AI SA. It felt like they were actually looking for a junior programmer instead of a Sr. Solutions Architect. Also, most of the interviewers were late to the calls, which was a bummer. And after the last interview, they just went silent, didn't even reply when I emailed with comments/thanks and some extra questions. It really came across as unprofessional, especially for accomplished AI solutions architects who take time out for these interviews. This startup seems immature in how it operates, which doesn't say much for its future culture or how they'll treat employees.

Behavioral

The recruiter contacted me after I applied online and seemed pretty straightforward and positive. Then I met with the hiring manager, who asked typical questions, though I'm not sure she fully understood all my answers. The recruiter told me in writing that they were looking to move fast and I'd hear back by the end of the week after everyone was interviewed. Unfortunately, like others have noted, they ghosted me despite me sending several emails. I find it unprofessional that the company doesn't even thank candidates for their time and just ghosts them.

I had a 30-minute chat with the recruiter. They didn't ask me anything about my background or experience. They mostly just asked what questions I had. The recruiter gave a quick rundown of the role, which seems like it's still being set up. At the end, they asked if I wanted to continue in the process. I said yes, and they mentioned scheduling a call with the hiring manager for the next week. Given the holidays, it's understandable things might be slow, but I haven't heard back since then.
