Behavioral Technical Other

I was sent three really simple questions via email first. Then, I had an initial remote meeting with HR, followed by an in-person technical interview. Finally, there was an online assessment with reading comprehension, logic, and a psychometric/aptitude test. The company and role seem dynamic and interesting, and the remote work option is a definite plus. However, I didn't really like the selection process itself: 1. They explicitly told me "it's not a 9-to-5 job." It's normal to work more during certain periods, especially in senior roles, but when it's stated so clearly as the standard, it makes you wonder if there are organization, understaffing, or efficiency issues. 2. Too much emphasis was placed on using Copilot, as if it were a rare or advanced skill, when it's actually a pretty simple and common tool nowadays. 3. The final assessment felt impersonal and timed, which isn't usual for senior positions and not very common in Italy. The risk is performing poorly just because you're not used to these kinds of tests anymore. Personally, I hadn't done one in ten years, and the test itself warned that it was unlikely to finish all the questions in time. Also, the psychometric test didn't allow for truly free responses, leaving a final sense of dissatisfaction.

The first step was with HR in English to check my language proficiency. They were very nice and explained the company, culture, and role broadly. Then, I spoke with the VP who went into more detail about the company's business and my role. After that, I had an interview with two senior project managers.

Had a virtual chat with the HR recruiter for the first round. They asked typical HR questions about why I'm interested in this role, how my experience aligns, and my current situation. There were also more behavioral questions. This role is in a pretty new function. They didn't share salary details as the budget isn't set yet.

The interview process started with a 30-min HR chat about my motivation for the firm and the role. Then, I had a 2-hour Excel test to complete on my own time, which would be reviewed in the next interview with my potential manager. The final stage was a 30-min call with the Global Head, which was pretty similar to the first HR interview.
