Sales Representative
So I applied for this job and about two weeks later, HR emailed me to schedule an interview. The link they sent was broken. I told them, and they said they knew it was broken but sent it anyway. I picked a new time, and they confirmed it, saying I'd get a link for a virtual interview. I never got the link. I tried calling multiple times before the interview, but couldn't reach anyone. I ended up calling customer service, and they had to talk to HR in Oakland for me because they couldn't transfer info. After 45 minutes, I found out nothing was scheduled and the job was on hold for six weeks. It was a waste of my morning, but I guess it's good I found out about their disorganization before actually working there.

Technical Support
I applied to sonic a while back when I was younger and didn't have much experience, and I got turned down. Some people said it's a good job with room to grow and move around in the company. So I got some work experience and tried again a few years later. The HR call was great. But then I had a virtual meeting with the hiring manager and an associate, and they were pretty rude. They even laughed and mocked my answers sometimes. It felt like they'd already decided against me before we even started. They asked me what I'd do if a customer was being difficult. I said I'd be kind, courteous, and do my best to help, using my HR training. The manager condescendingly replied, 'Yeah, clicking boxes is helpful.' After seeing other reviews, I'm not applying again. Seems like a bad hiring team, and I guess I got lucky with my experience.
- What are your weaknesses?
- What would you do if a customer was being difficult?
- Where do you see yourself in 3 years?
Technical Support Engineer
First, there was a written test covering DSL and networking. A lot of the questions were about acronym meanings, which felt a bit odd. Most of them seemed like things you could easily find with a quick Google search, and I even wondered if some people cheated. The actual interview part felt like it ended way too soon, which was unexpected. Maybe they didn't like my written answers, or perhaps they'd already found their top choice. I figured we'd discuss the written test, but they only ended up asking about my past jobs and my personality.
- Could you share a bit about yourself?
Field Service Technician
Started with a quick pre-screening call that lasted around 15 minutes. Then, a few days later, I had an in-person interview at the office with the supervisor. They asked me typical questions related to the job duties, like handling driving, lifting heavy things, dealing with customers, doing installations, and working up high.
- Can you share an instance where you had to manage a challenging customer interaction and explain how you resolved it?
- Tell me about your experience with driving.
- Tell me about your experience with lifting.
