First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sonae.
Intern
Had 2 interviews, one with HR and one with the manager. It was generally okay for an intern position with the usual questions about myself and the job. The feedback was fast and they were easy to contact.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What have you done in your past experiences?
- Do you have any questions about the position?
Sales
The interview process was super simple, just one phone call with one person. The interviewer was really nice and professional, making it feel pretty chill and easy. Knowing about sales beforehand definitely helped me feel more confident. It was a pretty basic and nice process, mainly because the interviewer was so friendly and supportive.
- Can you share your previous experience in sales?
- What are your salary expectations for this role?
- In your opinion, what qualities and skills are crucial for success in sales?
Stock Analyst
The initial hiring phase focuses on behavioral and motivational aspects, with no technical questions. A recruiter first asked me to clarify resume details. Then, the team manager for the role explained it thoroughly and shared their own career journey. They also asked about my background. Finally, they wanted to confirm my continued interest in the position and my ability to handle daily stress.
- Can you share details about your background, traits, and interests?
- What motivated your decision to pursue your university degree?
- How do you feel about working with data-intensive prediction models?
Price Analyst Intern
Very disappointed with Sonae's recruitment process management. The interview process involved: a phone call, an interview with the HR team, and a final interview with managers and the HR team. Despite applying online in December, I received a phone call after 2 weeks with some quick questions. A month later, I had a 1-hour interview with HR, covering behavioral, academic, and technical questions. Then, after 2 months, I was informed the internship was cancelled but offered a similar one, leading to another phone interview. Two weeks later, the HR person I'd already interviewed with called again, reiterating the cancellation and offering the same alternative internship, to which I agreed. They mentioned I only needed the final interview. In April, I had this final interview with managers and HR, where internship-related questions were asked. I inquired about feedback for all candidates, and they assured me everyone would be notified. As of July, I still haven't received any answer, which is quite disappointing.
