I interviewed with the Director of the Clinical department. It was a pretty chill process and they answered all my questions and concerns. The company seems like a great place to work. They explained the job in detail and made sure I had all the info I needed. We looked at my resume on Microsoft Teams and talked about my experience. Overall, it was a really good experience.

The recruiter was great, but the scheduling was a bit disorganized. All interviews went fine until a one on-site interview with a director. She asked me to interview in Chinese, even though the job is in Bothell, WA and I'm bilingual. She seemed unaware of the overall regulatory process and asked irrelevant questions, despite leading the team. She also asked personal questions like 'are you born in the US...'. The interview with this leader felt unprofessional.

So I had 6 interviews. I did like talking to the team and learning about the company, but then I met the general manager and was super unimpressed with how the interview went, and honestly, the role too. She had two phones going at once, could barely focus on our chat or respect my time. That actually made me realize right away it wasn't a place I wanted to be, or the vibe, like they're still managing like it's the 90s. After 6 interviews and all the time I put in, I got an automated email saying I didn't get it from the parent company. With how competitive this industry is and how much smaller places have stepped up, I can't really recommend Solta Medical.

I went through two interviews for a 6-month contract at Solta Medical UK. They looked at my portfolio and asked for references at the end, which felt a bit odd for a short contract. The recruiter said Solta was waiting for the 'green light' from the hiring manager, but she went on holiday. After a week and a half, the recruiter called to say the hiring manager was interviewing someone else. I kept waiting, turning down other job opportunities because I thought I was close to starting. The recruiter kept saying they were waiting to hear back from Solta, and I was still in the running. By the fourth week, the recruiter told me Solta didn't hire the candidate they interviewed after me, but they kept interviewing and eventually hired someone else. I was really disappointed, especially since I'd turned down other interviews. After two interviews, portfolio review, and providing references, finding out Solta had hired someone else felt awful. The recruiter apologized, but Solta didn't seem to care about stringing me along. The hiring manager never even emailed me an apology for wasting my time, even though I'd sent her my portfolio link. They also didn't consider how difficult it might be to ask for references again for a contract role or how it dashed my hopes for a new job. It was such a shocking experience that I felt compelled to share it.
