Behavioral Technical

I went through a shortened version of their usual interview steps. It began with a screening call to make sure I was really interested, talk about the job, and let me ask about the company. I then had two days to do a written test; I watched a video of someone doing a basic task and had to write about understanding it, even though the instructions weren't super clear. I heard back the next business day saying I passed and was set up for another interview to go over my background. It was all going really well, but then it just stopped with no updates. When I asked, it seemed like they weren't hiring for the role anymore.

The interview process involved three interviews and a take-home assignment. The timeline for the process wasn't clearly communicated. One of the hiring managers seemed disengaged and rushed through the questions, even mentioning they weren't sure why they were managing this role.

First, I had a call with HR where we talked about my experience and about me. Then, I was given a task to complete using Angular and Node.js. After that, I interviewed with the technical team. They asked me about how I completed the task and the technologies I've used. Finally, I had a final interview with the founder.

Behavioral Presentation

I had a 30-minute video call first, and then the next week I went in person for an on-site interview. When I got to the office, I met with two managers at the same time. It felt like they both had something to prove, and they were really looking for flaws in me instead of seeing how I'd fit the role. From the beginning, I felt like they didn't like me and didn't want me there. It was weird because I knew more about the solar industry than they did. Even though I was overqualified and understood the industry better than the interviewers, I think they didn't offer me the job just because they personally didn't like me and didn't give me a fair shot.
