So I had this 4-round interview process recently, and I wanted to share what happened and why I ultimately declined. First off, Round 1 was an online Cognitive & Personality Assessment with multiple-choice questions on general smarts and how you behave. Then came Round 2, a Technical Screening with two junior engineers. It was mostly 'what is what' conceptual stuff. Honestly, it felt pretty surface-level, and I heard later they were kinda new to the tech. Round 3 was way different; a senior and a very senior engineer grilled me on DSA, stuff specific to our field, tricky programming skills, and deep dives into language features. It was technically solid, but maybe a bit much for what the role actually needs. Finally, Round 4 was with the Hiring Manager / Director. This felt like a formality, like they'd already decided in Round 2. My take is that while it was a lot of rounds and tough, I'm not sure the assessment style really matched what the job requires day-to-day. Also, having really senior roles assessed early on by people still learning the tech can create some weird mismatches. Considering all this, plus what I heard from people working there, I decided not to move forward.

So first, I had this recruiter call, you know, just to chat about my background and what this job is all about. After that, it was an onsite thing. They had me do a technical interview where I had to solve two medium Leetcode problems. Then, I talked to an engineering manager for a behavioral chat, going over my past projects, how I work with others, and my problem-solving skills. It was a pretty standard process, all in all.

It was a pretty basic interview process. They asked me some questions about Java OOPS concepts like inheritance, polymorphism, objects, encapsulation, and data abstraction. They also asked about database concepts such as ACID properties, views, transactions, inner join, and left outer join. There were also project-based questions related to my resume, and questions about my college education.
