Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Solera.
Java Developer
First, a call with HR for the usual questions, then they gave me a personality test, then an aptitude test, then a coding test, then I had an interview with the team manager in English to review my test code and check my English skills. The whole process took two weeks. I passed all stages and got a 10/10 on the coding test. After the manager interview, they told me they'd select me and that I'd start in two weeks once they sent the offer. I asked them to send the offer ASAP because I'd need more time to notify my current company. After two weeks of almost daily contact with HR, they told me they were swamped and hiring was on hold. It's been a month and I haven't heard from them since.
- Tell me about your reasons for wanting to leave your current job.
- What are three weaknesses you possess?
- Where do you see yourself in three years?
Java Developer
The initial stage was a phone interview with simple questions, mostly about current popular Java topics. The interviewer had about 5 years of experience. While I didn't love that the questions didn't really test a candidate's true potential, the overall experience was positive. I'm waiting to hear back from HR after the interview I had last evening.
- Could you explain what immutability is?
- What are the ways to make a Java class immutable?
- Can you list some examples of immutable classes in Java?
Java Developer
It was a simple and basic live coding test with someone who didn't speak english that well. They asked basic OOP questions, about previous experiences, personal questions, and qualifications. I can't remember what else they asked me.
- They asked basic OOP questions.
- Can you tell me about your previous experiences?
- Any personal questions?
