The process kicked off with a recruiter chat, then a technical Q&A. After that went well, I was told the hiring manager's decision was next, but then nothing for two months. Eventually, I got an offer, pending final approval and paperwork. After three more weeks, they said no. It was a really slow process with bad communication overall. The recruiter and tech interviewer were good, but the hiring manager took forever, which makes me wonder how efficient they are.

First, I had a 1-hour behaviour interview with HR. It was super helpful for understanding the team, company, and work environment. The HR person really wanted me to succeed and gave me study materials for the tech interview, a SoftServe CV template to polish my CV for the PM, and answered all my questions. Then, there was a 30-minute tech interview. It was quick and had a few theory questions plus some SQL problems. I also got to ask the PM questions about the project.

First, I talked to the recruiter about when I could start, how much I wanted to make, and if I spoke good English. Then, I had a technical chat with the person who would be my manager. We talked about my skills, how I like to work (like using agile, how I help out, my thoughts on docs and testing), and my career goals. After that, I met with the Big Data Engineering team for a deeper technical dive into Python, Spark, SQL, cloud stuff, and CI/CD. The last step was meeting the client, but I actually already had an offer by then. SoftServe usually places you with a client and a project, and you might go into a talent pool if they aren't sure about you, but that didn't happen to me; I've been with the same client and team the whole time.
