So I interviewed for a React Developer position and it was a bit of a letdown. The beginning part was cool, they seemed really into my background and I got good feedback on the coding challenge. I was actually ready to take a pay cut just to join them. But then the offer came in super low, like below junior level pay. I tried to negotiate, and they offered to cover my commute, which I thought was a done deal. Then, out of nowhere, they rescinded the offer saying I didn't have enough experience, even though we'd already gone over all that and they liked my background. It's frustrating to feel like you're not valued, especially when you're flexible and keen to join. I get budget issues, but you need to be upfront and offer a fair wage. Hope they can improve their process and offer decent pay in the future. P.S. Negotiating is normal, and I just wanted a fair offer. Offering $55k for an intermediate dev is just not right. And if I wasn't qualified, why offer me the job the same day I interviewed?

I had some trouble setting up a time for the interview initially. When I arrived at their office, the person interviewing me didn't even know what job I was applying for. They mostly just talked about my resume and didn't really check my skills, which they kind of dismissed. After that, I got an offer for minimum wage. I get that they're a startup, but this is a software job, not a fast-food gig.

I applied for this internship through internships.com. The HR Director contacted me soon after to arrange an interview. The interviewer didn't ask any tough questions; it felt like a normal conversation. The interview was on a Monday, and the interviewer mentioned I'd hear back by the end of the week. They got back to me mid-next week, possibly because of other candidates. I turned down the job since I had another offer and the pay wasn't great.

The interview process was pretty straightforward. I started with a phone interview, and then they invited me for an in-person interview. During that in-person meeting, I spoke with multiple team members and some of the executives. I got the job offer about two days later.
