Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SoFi.
Data Scientist
The interview experience started with a recruiter intro call, followed by a hiring manager interview that included a short case study. Then, there was a technical round focusing on SQL and calculating a KPI. The process concluded with two behavioral interviews with leadership, covering questions about my past experiences, my interest in SoFi, and my career aspirations. The recruiter was really responsive and kept me in the loop after each stage. Everyone I talked to was nice and professional, making the whole thing feel easy and good.

Data Scientist
The internship process was really simple, with 3 rounds total. The first round was a chat with the hiring manager. After that, you'd move on to the next 2 rounds: one was supposed to be a technical coding interview, and the other a case study. The person who was supposed to do my technical interview ended up just talking to me about summer projects instead.
- Can you explain how you would present your case findings, focusing on business information, to the marketing team?
Data Scientist
It was good, there were 3 phases. They asked me behavioral questions, basic SQL and statistics. I also talked about my previous experiences. Then I spoke with the Hiring Manager to understand the team's needs.
- Can you describe your current work?
- What do you consider your greatest strength?
- Tell me about your prior work.
