The interview kicked off with a group session involving myself and three other candidates. Initially, the recruiter asked each of us to introduce ourselves and briefly summarize our backgrounds. Following that, we each answered three sets of questions, where the recruiter would pose a prompt, and then everyone would respond before moving to the next prompt. After this group portion, we all stepped out. Subsequently, the process moved to one-on-one interviews, which had two rounds. I first spoke with another recruiter, and upon finishing that, I had a conversation with the final recruiter, who was the senior manager. They mentioned I should expect to hear back within about a week. On the very same day, I got an email requesting five references. Overall, I really enjoyed the hiring process; since it was my first time, I was surprised at how comfortable I felt during my interactions with each of the recruiters present. They were all quite friendly and helpful when I had questions.

It was a weird interview setup. I was interviewed by three other people and they used a popcorn method, asking random questions to certain people. Then they left for about 20 minutes and told us that “Phase Two” was a one-on-one interview with a Team Manager. The whole thing took two hours, which felt long because answering questions didn't take much time, it was mostly waiting. I just finished the references they asked for. They use an online platform for contacting references by email survey, which is handy, but they want it back in 48 hours, which is a really tight deadline to get everyone to finish a long survey about you. Now I'm just waiting to hear what's next. The call center vibe they had seemed nice and open. It's a new company (DE), and it's hard to tell if they're legit.

I had my first interview with a recruiter via Indeed. Then, within 48 hours, I was invited for a second interview. The interviewers and staff seemed disorganized, repeatedly apologizing for delays and their lack of preparation. One recruiter from Sofi, a woman wearing tight skinny jeans, a t-shirt, and flip-flops, was responsible for scheduling. She had no information about me and no updates on my interview process. Finally, I was called in for an interview with two people. The first person was very nice, informative, and enthusiastic about his job. We spoke for a while, and I shared my 15 years of customer service and 5 years of banking and mortgage experience, which I knew was a perfect match. The second person, however, seemed uninterested. His questions were very basic, suggesting the company isn't looking for experienced, mature, or skilled candidates. They seem to prefer younger, inexperienced individuals they can train, especially if you have a mortgage background. They are not looking for experienced people. The interview took place in a hotel.
