The interview process was quite fast, and everyone I interacted with was very polite and responsive. It was a bit unusual that my first interview was with a group of about five people, as typically I'd have an initial one-on-one before meeting the team, but they were all pleasant.

  • They seemed to imply that long hours and doing more than initially hired for are common.

I had a pretty good time interviewing with Sock Club. I think I went through 3 interview rounds with HR and some developers. After the third interview, the last person I talked to said I'd hear back in a few days. I figured we'd be talking about an offer. I was pretty stoked and thought I'd connected with everyone. Two weeks passed... I sent a follow-up email, no reply. Never heard back, totally ghosted. To make matters worse, I saw the same job posting a few weeks later. It's been about 4 months now, so I'm not really expecting a response lol. I've been ghosted by so many tech companies I've talked to and interviewed with, I lost count. But this one felt especially shady. It almost made me give up my job search, I really had to recover from that one. I'm sure everyone who's been through it, or knows someone who has, knows that common decency is hard to find in the tech interviewing world. But when I think of companies that really left a bad taste in my mouth, Sock Club comes to mind, along with another famous tech company past its prime that you could probably guess.

This company's hiring process was really misleading. I felt strung along by the hiring team. I interviewed for two similar graphic design jobs, one established and one for someone new to the industry. I went through all three rounds for both. The hiring team was nice and helpful, and things seemed to be going well until the final round. Then I was ghosted for weeks, even though SC said they'd reply by the end of the week. I waited a long time because they said they were super busy. After a few weeks, I got an email saying I didn't get the position. The unprofessional part: After the first rejection, SC encouraged me to apply for the second job, saying I'd be a good fit and my name was highlighted. I applied, and they did the exact same thing again, rejecting me a second time! And then they told me to apply AGAIN. No thanks.
