So for the interview process, we started with some basic technical questions about digital advertising, like how much ad spend you've managed and what platforms you've used. Then we touched on some culture-fit stuff, especially regarding remote work. The last part was a paid take-home assessment focused on Google Ads.

It was a long and tough interview process. It involved phone calls, multiple Zoom meetings, assignments, and mock scenarios. Ultimately, I never got a clear offer or rejection. It felt like they were using the interviews to get new ideas for their clients and then wouldn't follow up. If you do get an offer from Socialfly, I'd say no. They haven't had any success in growing client budgets or upselling. I asked about their successes beyond social media, and they admitted they'd mostly failed. Their company structure is weird; there's no HR or legal, and everyone reports to the VP of Client Service. Teams are really understaffed, with people doing the work of several. The founders clearly lack agency experience, shown by their bad business development, constant reorganizations (they changed things during my interviews and planned another change soon), poor staffing, and this awful interview experience. They seem more focused on their image than running a real agency.

The CEO hit me up on LinkedIn and we connected super fast, he was chill but disorganized. I didn't get a job description so I was going in blind for all the interviews. If I had known more, I would have asked questions that would have made me realize this job wasn't for me pretty quickly. The second round was fine, but they didn't even look at a presentation I gave. For the third round, I made a new presentation about a past project. Presenting over Zoom didn't go well for me, which was a huge fail for them; I wish I had known earlier. Overall, it was just an okay interview process with really disappointing results, mostly because of bad communication and them rushing to hire someone.

The hiring process was really drawn out because I had to keep following up with the hiring staff at every stage to move forward. My main issue is that after a phone interview, a personality test, and two separate in-person interviews (which meant I had to take two days off work), they assured me I'd hear back either way. But I never did. It's pretty unprofessional to keep someone hanging for a whole month and then ghost them, especially when they follow up via email. Even a generic rejection would have been better than complete silence.
