The interview was scheduled properly with the Client. Communication and updates were good. The Zoom invite had a 40-minute limit, so I had to reconnect. Questions came from the Client, and SOAL was the liaison. There were some issues during offer acceptance, and dates weren't discussed properly with the client.
- Can you tell me a little about yourself?
Recruiter
The interview process was really easy and the management made me feel really comfortable. They asked about my background but also wanted to hear about my thoughts on what would be a great environment to work for. I've never felt so comfortable on an interview.
- Can you share your recruiting experience, preferred work environments, and any fresh ideas you have?
- What kind of work environment do you prefer and have experience with, and what new ideas can you bring?

Contractor
Although I was contacted for a great position, the interview experience was terrible. The recruiter lied to me often, and I was harassed constantly. I was told many times that I was eligible for a long-term, 'multi year' position only to be told by the manager at the hiring company that it was only 6 months. It was an uncomfortable experience for everyone in the room to realize that I had been brought under false pretenses. Additionally, when trying to plan an interview time, I gave my availability. SOAL asked me to take PTO to make it, so I did. However, they didn't fulfill that time slot. They let me know with less than 24 hours that they actually scheduled me for 8:30 am the next day, a time that was never told as available nor did they confirm with me I could even make that time! It was extremely stressful to deal with their pushiness. I was obligated to take that time, even though I had scheduled PTO for another time that I had believed they scheduled for me. They were so aggressive, that I was receiving 8 calls a day! They also texted me all day long. When speaking over the phone, they sound like cars salesmen. Eventually, it seemed like they were selling me a bad deal and trying to push me to sign papers so they could profit immediately. I was given almost no time to consider the position. They told me that I had a few days to decide. Then the very next day, was told I only had that day to decide! It's just not good business. They leave out details. I didn't know I would pay for my own healthcare until I asked. If you talk to them, get all the details upfront. That way you can negotiate accordingly instead of assuming they'll give you basic benefits. And lastly, their correspondence is ridden with grammatical and spelling errors. In my opinion, it's not professional to have messy English skills while negotiating life changing contracts.
